Valentine or Galentine
LOCKDOWN VALENTINE DAY IDEAS
This Valentine Day is not going to be like any other. Celebrating in lockdown has a somewhat unromantic feel to it (pardon the pun) but guess what? There are still fun things to do and create in your own home!!
I have compiled a little list of suggestions for you, so take a look and see if any would work for you. Honestly, you don’t have to share the results!!
Have your first date all over again
Just because you can’t revisit the place doesn’t mean you can’t recreate it in your home. Maybe the first meal you had – why not cook the same dish together. The first film you ever saw together, find it online and watch it again complete with popcorn and wine of course. Do you have a favourite place? Print pictures off to remind you and display them around the house. Even go as far as to dress for the occasion. The options are endless!
Classic board games, snacks and a glass of wine or two can be an enjoyable evening together. No technology allowed just the two of you spending quality time together.
If you want to incorporate a bit of sexy fun, why not have a sexy scavenger hunt, finding everyday objects to spice things up including a wooden spoon, whipped cream, chocolate. I’ll leave the rest to your imagination and what you can do with it!
Purchase the Ann Summers 50 days of Play Couple’s Game £15.00 for some very naughty suggestions.
Many restaurants are offering meal kits delivered straight to your door, ready to finish at home. My husband has ordered one of these from Rick Stein for Valentine’s Day. Take a look at the options below.
Themed dinner and movie night
Why not combine the two? Have an evening where the dinner and movie tie in together. You could make an international dinner and watch a film set in that country or make a meal based on a movie scene. Just needs a few bits of imagination, ladies! Even dress up if you want!!
Valentine Day dance experience
I found this by chance and love it. This Valentine’s Day Strictly Professionals Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara are hosting Valentine’s night at theirs via Zoom.
They will be teaching the dance of love – The Rumba. The class will be followed by some fun with them both answering your questions via Zoom chat.
You will also receive a special greetings card signed by Aljaz and Janette.
Make a Bucket List
Sit down with a glass of wine and nibbles and write down everything you would like to do together and why not listen to a special playlist of love songs to keep you going. Maybe pin it on your fridge as a daily reminder of what the future holds for your both. Make those plans ladies.
Stay at home Spa Day.
Recreate a Spa Day at home. Don those robes, light some scented candles, get out the essential massage oils and off you go! Who knows how it will end!!
Have your speciality cocktail. If you haven’t got the ingredients, you can buy cocktail making kits complete with delivery components straight to your door—links below to a couple of websites.
Talk to yourself like someone you love
– brene brown
For all the Galentines.
Here are a few ideas;
A gorgeous pamper night, bubbly hot bath, scented candles, face mask, chocolates or why not send yourself some flowers.
Watch a favourite film and curl up with some goodies and a bottle. No interruptions and you get to watch what you want!
Binge on Sex and the City re-runs or buy a new sex toy. Why not you’re the boss! Do whatever feels right for you.
Why not plan and arrange some girly nights out or adventures you have always wanted to try but never actually done.
Arrange a Zoom evening with your single friends and have a good old chat about relationship hit and misses funny anecdotes and have a good old belly laugh.
